The calendar is moving toward the end of the season, but this year the mountain has other plans. The snowfall from the last weekend of March has completely changed the scenario, leaving an Easter period that feels like winter (but with better temperatures). The last days of snow in Grandvalira arrive with slopes in excellent condition and the opportunity to make the most of the season until the very last day.
From Els Llacs Mountain Apartments, we share some ideas to make the most of this holiday break in the mountains.

Easter with fresh snow and longer days

The late March snowfall arrived at just the right time and has improved slope conditions for Easter, with powder-spring snow conditions. It has left a good accumulation, and it shows in the way you ski. The last days of snow in Grandvalira come with slopes in good condition across most sectors.
In the morning, the snow is firmer and better for skiing. From midday onwards, it becomes softer but still comfortable for continued runs. In addition, temperatures are milder than in winter, allowing for longer days on the slopes. A season finale with great skiing conditions and without the cold of the harshest months!
More good news: Ordino-Arcalís is extending the season until April 12, while the rest of the Grandvalira Resorts sectors will close on April 6.

Alternative snow activities beyond skiing

Although skiing remains central, it is not the only option. Take advantage of the Easter break to try other activities that, with fresh snow, become even more appealing.
Snowshoeing routes allow access to quieter areas, away from the movement of the slopes. Mushing (dog sledding) becomes more attractive with fresh snow, as the route is more comfortable and stable. Even family areas such as Mon(t) Màgic, located in the Canillo sector of Grandvalira, regain prominence thanks to the renewed conditions.
These types of plans work well when combining skiing with more relaxed moments.

Ski touring in the last days of snow in Grandvalira

The end of the season also opens the door to ski touring, especially after the latest snowfall.
Grandvalira offers adapted and signposted ski touring circuits, a great option to get started or simply enjoy an outing.
At this time of year, ski touring is a great complement to alpine skiing: it changes the pace of the day, allows you to explore beyond the usual areas and lets you experience the mountains from a different perspective.

Après-ski with a different rhythm

The end of the season also changes the atmosphere off the slopes. The last days of snow in Grandvalira bring an après-ski scene with terraces and afternoon light that invites you to extend the day at a relaxed pace.
In addition, staying at the foot of the slopes makes everything easier: you can return to the apartment at any time, rest and head out again without long commutes.

How to end the season with good vibes

Making the most of the last days of snow in Grandvalira does not require big plans, but it does require some strategy. Choosing the right timing, combining activities and booking them in advance makes all the difference.
A good idea is to alternate intense skiing days with lighter ones, incorporating complementary activities or simply taking time to enjoy the surroundings. It is also advisable to pay attention to how the snow evolves throughout the day to adjust your pace. Check the weather report before heading out to ski.
The recent snowfall has extended the season and allows you to say goodbye with excellent conditions.
